LiveSmart BC: Small Business Program

LiveSmart BC: Small Business Program Helps BC Businesses Go Green and Save
The three year LiveSmart BC: Small Business Program will make it easy for thousands of BC small businesses to save money and reduce their energy consumption.
Program overview
Join other businesses across B.C. who are saving money and reducing energy use by participating in the LiveSmart BC Small Business Program. The LiveSmart BC: Small Business Program was developed in partnership with BC utilities (FortisBC, BC Hydro and Terasen Gas), industry associations, the Small Business Roundtable and other BC-based small business operators.
The LiveSmart BC Small Business Program in the Capital Regional District
The LiveSmart BC: Small Business Program provides small businesses with unbiased, expert advice from a Business Energy Advisor about how best to save energy and money. If you are an owner or manager of a small or medium sized business in the capital region, you may be eligible for a free business energy assessment. After the assessment, you will receive a written report with recommendations about the best return on investment from lighting and energy upgrade options and how to access utility incentives to help pay for them.
During a site visit of your business a City Green Business Energy Advisor will:
- Conduct an on-site assessment (20 minutes to 1 hour depending on building size)
- Interview a business representative about general energy concerns or comfort complaints
- Collect detailed information about the building lighting systems, and
- Collect basic information about windows and doors, heating, hot water, and ventilation systems
